Koree Kimball Physical Therapy Assistant PTA
Koree is a multi- location Physical Therapy Assistant and has been a part of the Optimal Therapy team since April 2020. She graduated from Carrington College in Las Vegas with an Associates Degree in Physical Therapy Assisting. Koree believes physical activity and movement is an essential part of life.
Koree specializes in Geriatric, Pediatric, Neurological and Orthopedic cases and intends to further her proficiencies in those specialties. She loves working and getting to meet each and everyone of you. Her biggest passion is seeing the changes and improvements you make as you complete physical therapy.
Koree is from Clarkston, Washington. She adores crafting/baking activities with her 3 year old daughter. Hiking, gym, and taking her dogs for walks are an integral part of her life. She has a love affair with coffee, is a huge music/movie buff, and enjoys road trips/traveling.
Mike Russell Director of Provider Best Practices PT, DPT, CSCS
Mike Russell is a graduate from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Department of Physical Therapy in 2007.
Since that time, his research interests have included balance rehabilitation for athletes and the aging population, shoulder pain and the overhead throwing athlete, foot volumetrics related to running versus walking, hip, knee, and ankle pain with running and run-related injuries.
Dr. Russell has been assisting all individuals to help them return to activity with an emphasis on “prehabilitation.” This term is the type of work and rehabilitation that the general population needs to engage in and depend on to prevent injuries.
He has extensive training in the use of dry needling techniques to help alleviate aches and pains faster with less time away from activities that people love. Clients of Dr. Russell enjoy the ability to stay active, avoid the use of pills or pain medication, and avoid costly surgery and procedures.
Dr. Russell is married to his beautiful wife Sara and enjoys fishing, Disneyland, and going to the beach with their kids Madison, Luke, and Liam.
Philip Friesen Doctor of Physical Therapy Clinic Director
Philip graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Concordia University Irvine; where he excelled as a scholar athlete playing basketball. He then went on to Chapman University where he earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
Since graduating in 2014, Philip has been working in the outpatient orthopedic setting. He loves being a physical therapist because of the connections made with patients while they progress through their rehabilitation and return to the activities they love. Being an athlete, Philip has a deep interest in all types of sporting injuries. He enjoys working with all patients who are motivated to get better.
Philip has been married since 2016 to his wife Leilani, they have 2 young girls and 2 huge dogs. His ideal weekend consists of barbecuing and relaxing with his family by the pool. Philip is also an avid sports fan, especially football and basketball. If he wasn't a therapist, Philip would be a strength and conditioning coach, getting athletes to maximize their physical abilities.
