The Optimal Therapy Postal location is the location that started it all! Opened in 2008, the Postal location has been serving patients in Pahrump for over a decade with all of their physical therapy needs. Located in the heart of Pahrump on Postal Rd off of Highway 160, the Postal location has long made physical therapy possible for patients who can’t make the hour drive to Las Vegas for every treatment.

Selica
Clinical Director/ Physical Therapy Assistant
Selica was born and raised in the small town of Salinas, Ca. Being very active in high school kickstarted her to pursue a career in physical therapy. In 2014, she moved to Las Vegas to attend Carrington College. She received her Associate's degree as a physical therapist assistant (PTA) in 2016.
Selica joined Optimal PT back in 2017 and has expanded her field in orthopedic injuries, pediatrics, manual techniques, and neurological conditions. She also has experience with cardiac rehab, providing home health services, and sports related injuries. She enjoys working with a company that takes pride in what they do. She feels that everyone is like family and always strives to help others feel better. In her spare time, Selica enjoys snowboarding, kickboxing, traveling, and hiking. She tries to stay active as best as she can to provide the best care for her patients. When not active, she enjoys trying out new local Vegas restaurants and learning how to cook. Selica enjoys learning about others and sharing experiences. She is looking forward to have a wonderful career in physical therapy with Optimal Therapy.

Dr. Christensen was born in Idaho Falls, ID, grew up on a potato farm, and learned the value of work at an early age. Upon graduation from Shelley High School in 2001, he served a 2-year religious mission in Riverside, CA. Dr. Christensen continued his education at Idaho State University in Pocatello, ID where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Science in 2009 and Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2012.
Dr. Christensen values training and education and has several contracts with surrounding colleges and universities to provide clinical educational opportunities to future therapists such as PT’s, PTA’s,OT’s, COTA’s, and Athletic Trainers. In 2017, Dr. Christensen began helping with the Nye County School District, consulting school employees/staff, parents, and directly treating students with various gross motor impairments throughout Nye County. Dr. Christensen has become certified in Dry Needling, McKenzie Method, Kinesio Taping. He is also trained in high velocity low-amplitude thrust manipulation of the cervical, thoracic, lumbar, and SI joints. His clinical skills/experience include: wound care, home health services, orthopedic conditions, neurological impairments, vestibular/balance, cardio-pulmonary, and workers’ compensation/FCE cases. Dr. Dave Christensen has worked with Optimal/Affiliated Therapy since July of 2012 and enjoys working with a wide array of patients with various ailments. His interest in rehabilitation started at an early age as he enjoyed sports and was injured several times including broken bones, muscle strains, and knee surgery that introduced him to the wonderful world of physical therapy. Because of his time dealing with injuries and several bouts of rehab, Dr. Christensen is able to empathize with his patients and provide some unique insight. Dr. Christensen is blissfully married to his high-school sweet-heart Elsha and they are blessed to have 4 children in their home: 3 boys and 1 girl. As a family they enjoy church, scouting, sports, photography, theme parks, video games, being involved in the community, and various outdoor activities. Doctor of Physical Therapy
Stephen DeFriez was born in Price, Utah and grew up in Castle Dale, Utah. After high school, he served a 2-year mission in Italy for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Stephen obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Utah. He then received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy also from the University of Utah in 2009.
While at the University of Utah, Stephen met and married his wife Kim. Together, they have 3 beautiful children. Dr. DeFriez’s interest in physical therapy started after an ACL and meniscus injury and subsequent surgical repair and physical therapy treatment. Stephen has always enjoyed small towns so his work experience has been very broad and includes geriatrics, vestibular/balance, orthopedics, home health, cardiopulmonary, and wound care. Stephen has been a resident of Pahrump since 2009. His interests include Jeeping, camping, hiking, playing board games/videos games and trying science experiments with his children.

Physical Therapy Assistant
Richard was born and raised in Las Vegas, NV. He received his Associates degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant in 2016 from Carrington College and has been working with Optimal Therapy since graduating. Richard has always loved helping others and became interested in becoming a PTA to make a bigger impact in your life to help you feel better.
Richard has developed as a clinician and gained skills in communication, manual therapy (massage, cupping, passive ROM, and instrumented soft tissue mobilization), and exercises for all age groups/conditions. Richard has experience working with neurological conditions, orthopedic surgeries, cardiac rehab, and much more. Richard’s favorite part of being a Physical Therapist Assistant is working hands-on with you and being able to decrease your pain. On Richard's days off, he enjoys to dine and travel. He also enjoys hiking, snowboarding, lifting weights, kickboxing, boxing, hockey and watching sports such as UFC. Richard looks forward to continuing his life as a PTA and being married with kids one day.

Physical Therapy Assistant
Robert “Bob” Martin was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but raised about three hours north in Kokomo, Indiana. He joined the US Air Force out of high school and after serving for 4 years, he moved back to Northern Indiana where he met his wife Tricia. They have since been married for thirty years, and together have raised four beautiful girls.
Through becoming an avid runner and cyclist, Bob grew his interest in physical therapy, health and more importantly, in helping people. He attended school at Brown Mackie College in South Bend, Indiana and finished in the top of his class. Soon after graduation, Bob gained employment with a skilled nursing facility where he won the annual exemplary employee, “Quest for Excellence” award. He has since gained a wealth of knowledge and experience as a PTA from working in many skilled nursing and wellness facilities throughout his career. Now an empty nester, Bob and his wife are very active in their church, volunteering, mentoring high school students, and enjoying time with their rescue horse, Tom.
