Physical Therapy Services in Southern Nevada

Optimal Physical Therapy in Vegas offers a broad range of services to help patients recover from their injuries and conditions and return to active living at the level they enjoy. Our services include, but are not limited to, the following:

Running Injuries

Running is a popular lifestyle choice for many of our patients, but it is also responsible for some injuries each year, mostly caused by overuse or sudden changes in the amount of training the patient is undergoing, such as in preparation for a marathon.

We treat many running injuries such as patellofemoral pain syndrome (more commonly known as runner’s knee), Achilles tendinitis, patellar tendinitis, plantar fasciitis, shin splints, Iliotibial Band Syndrome, stress fractures, pulled muscles and ankle sprains.

Our goal is to get to the root of the problem and help our patients heal quickly while educating them on what they can do to ensure that the problem does not become a recurring injury.

Neck Pain and Headaches

Neck pain and headaches can often result from injuries such as whiplash, or from poor posture, strained muscles, and certain degenerative diseases.

Whiplash, the sudden and extreme jerking motion of your head moving forward or backward as in the impact of a motor vehicle collision, can seriously impact intervertebral joints, discs, ligaments and nerve roots.

Our manual therapy approach is particularly effective in treating neck pain and headaches, and we combine it with customized prescribed exercises and education about ergonomics both at work and at home.

We spend sufficient time to determine the exact source of your pain and injury and then create an individualized treatment approach that helps the pain ease and movement be restored as quickly as possible.

Back Pain and Injuries

Back pain, especially chronic pain in the lower back, is a serious, life-impacting problem that affects more than 80 percent of Americans at some point in their lives. It is the second most common illness-related reason for missing work.

Commonly the result of short-term stress on the puzzles and ligaments supporting the spine, back pain can usually be effectively treated without medications or surgery. Physical therapy, combined with an accompanying commitment to therapeutic exercise, can help many patients get back to enjoying a pain-free life again.

Our manual therapy approach has been an essential component of our excellent reputation for helping patients with both chronic and acute lower and upper back pain.

Knee Pain and Injuries

A common reason for people to seek physical therapy is knee pain. Because your knee joint is such an integral part of your maintaining an active lifestyle, it can be particularly painful and debilitating.

We know you don’t want to live life from the sidelines, so we do a thorough assessment of your knee pain to determine the source of the problem. We then combined hands-on manual therapy with a unique, customized exercise program to help reduce inflammation and bring back your strength and motion.

Pre and Post-Surgery

In a number of peer-reviewed research studies, physical therapy has been found to minimize the impact of surgery and enhance the value of rehabilitation, especially when patients receive it both before and after their operations.

We are experienced in working with surgeries such as joint replacement, ligament or tendon reconstruction, or surgery done to repair bone fractures. Our goal is to hasten your full and complete rehabilitation. We work as a team with your physician and surgeon to customize a program of rehabilitation for you that supports your full recovery.

Sports Injuries

We are experienced and effective in treating active adults who have sustained injuries while enjoying their favorite sports either competitively or recreationally.

We take a customized approach to each injuries, working first to assess the cause, reduce inflammation and encourage the healing process. We take the time to determine the cause of the injury and to educate each patient on how such an injury can be prevented in the future.

We know how much active living means to our patients and we will do everything our skill and experience allows to support them in their goals to get back to living at the level of their choice as quickly as possible.

Balance and Gait Issues

If you are experiencing unsteadiness, headaches or vertigo, you may be impacted by problems with your vestibular or balance system.

These issues can quickly become debilitating and threaten your quality of life and ability to move independently.

Gait issues can cause pain over time and lead to bigger problems as well. For the recreational or semi-pro athlete, they can keep you from reaching your full potential.

After a thorough analysis of your condition, we will recommend a customized program of treatment to help you regain your stability and/or solve your gait issues so you can enhance your performance to your full potential.

Chronic Pain and Fibromyalgia

We understand how completely chronic pain and the pain of fibromyalgia can drain the spontaneity and activity out of a life. We see first-hand the patients who have lost work, lost the joy of active living and seen their quality of life seriously impacted by chronic pain.

We are conscious of the many underlying factors that can cause and impact patients with chronic pain and help to find the source of the pain so we can begin the healing process.

Our goal is to help you find a life without pain and without resorting to a dependency on medication or surgery. We want to get you back to living your life fully again and our record in this area is filled with many successes.

Independent Gym Program

Our goal is not just to solve your immediate problem of pain and discomfort or weakness, but also to help you maintain yourself physically throughout your life and enjoy living as actively as you want.

Stay with us and under our guidance by joining our independent gym program so we can continue to help you reach your peak performance

Pediatric Physical Therapy

At our pediatric clinic, we work with children of all ages and help in their growth and development as they work to overcome a wide variety of injuries and conditions.

We are trained and experienced in helping children with autism, cerebral palsy, developmental delays and a wide range of neurological conditions among many other things.

We are committed to helping each child develop to their full potential and we work in partnership with their physicians and parents or caregivers to customize effective strategies for their unique situations.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy focuses on improving one’s participation in activities of daily living (ADL’s). While Basic ADL’s consist of everyday tasks like dressing, bed mobility, and grooming, OT can also address Instrumental ADL’s that include leisure activities (cooking, driving, cleaning, ect), sports and recreation (swimming, golf, baseball, ect) and any other meaningful activity to you.

To further emphasize meaningful activities, OT takes a holistic approach that stresses the importance of both mental and physical health.

At Optimal Therapy, OT takes a top-down approach to these tasks that considers impairments of a condition that lead to decreased participation in ADL’s.
